Delilah Montagu reflects upon first love on new single 'Orange'

With the release of her latest single ‘Orange’, LA based recording artist Delilah Montagu finds the strength to move on from a loving, yet un-saveable relationship.

Commenting on the emotive track, Delilah says: “I wrote ‘Orange’ about my first love. Loving someone but also understanding that you can’t exist in each other’s worlds is a painful realisation, and I tried to put it into a song. ‘I was a bird, and you were a fish, we couldn’t breathe together like this.’ The song is also about reassuring the person that even though you don’t ever talk, you’re always thinking of them with love and that they will always be with you everywhere you go.”

Taken from the singers upcoming EP ‘Bird’ – which is scheduled to drop Friday, June 14th – the brooding track sees Montagu team up with producer Phil Simmonds (JP Cooper, New Hope Club, Sam Tompkins) to create a beautifully melodic, mid-tempo pop ballad that speaks to anybody struggling to let go of a love they thought would last forever.

Created alongside director and artist Peter Cerrito (Kanye West), the singles accompanying music video sees Delilah successfully capture the essence of the songs lyric, showcasing the “uncomfortable intimacy” of a breakup, as well as the “feeling of freedom”.
